**Artist's Magazine 23rd annual competition selected three of David's pieces for the Top 50, two in Landscape and one in Still Life.

** The Arts for the Parks 20th Annual Competition once again selected David's pieces for the Top 100, the Top Mini 100 and the 2nd 100.

** Colin Fry wrote a piece, Starting a Critique Group, for October issue of American Artist.  It is about the Albuquerque Wetbrush Critique Group, of which David is a member.

** April: David was awarded Second Place in Watercolor in New Mexico Master Works show, judged by nationally recognized artist Steve Hanks. David also conducted a demonstration for the Masterworks show during the April show.

**In May David’s article “How to Paint Water” appeared in Artist’s Magazine and is being reprinted in their January issue of Art Basics magazine in a collection of the “most popular” articles.

Also in May David had a one man show at Concetta D Gallery in Albuquerque, NM.

**The June issue of Watercolor Magic featured an article on David by Beverly Leesman titled Grand Illusions. It shows his Arts For the Parks Paintings and some of his other pieces as well. He also provided the Picture This Guest Essay in this issue of Watercolor Magic.

David also conducted a demonstration for the New Mexico Watercolor Society in June.

**In July David received notice that one of his paintings was selected by Artist’s Magazine as a finalist in their 22nd Annual Artist’s Magazine’s Art Competition in the landscape category: Sunrise Near Buoy 83. Over 13,000 entries were submitted and Finalists are the top 50 in each category. The painting was also selected by Artist’s Magazine as the cover of their 2006 calendar.

**Four (4) of David’s paintings have been selected by the Arts for the Parks for their 2005 show: Three of them in the min 100 and one in the top 100. He also has a painting the 2nd 100 show During the Arts For The Parks Show. The Top 100 piece, Morning Near Hole In The Rock, was selected as the Founders Favorite Award.  This award is selected by the founders of the Arts for the Parks as their choice of the “best of show.”

He also has a painting the 2nd 100 show During the Arts For The Parks Show. David will be in Jackson Hole fore the awards banquet on September 17th.

Visit him at his gallery in Jackson Hole, The Wilcox Gallery, on the 17th, where demonstrations will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.

February 2004:
Juried the signature show of the New Mexico Watercolor Society.

April 2004: Awarded First Place in Watercolor in New Mexico Master Works show, judged by nationally recognized artist Morris Rippel.

David also held a demonstration at the Master Works show.

July 2004: Two of David’s paintings were selected by Artist Magazine as finalists; in their 21st Annual Artist’s Magazine’s Art Competition: Slick Rock Dawn in Landscape and Blue Robe in Portrait & Figure. Over 13,000 entries were submitted and Finalists are the top 50 in each category.

During July David also had a one man show and reception at his gallery in Durango, CO, Termar Trends.

September 2004: David won the Landscape Award of Merit Bronze Medal at the Arts for the Parks competition at Jackson, WY. Arts for the Parks is an International Painting Competition to protect and celebrate the country’s national parks. David’s award was for Wake South of Dangling Rope. In addition, David had another painting, Hidden Passage Morning in the Top 100 (his 14th and 15th paintings respectively in this show) and Main Channel Sunset in the Mini 100.

During the weekend at Jackson, WY, David participated at a group demonstration at the Wilcox Gallery where he shows in Wyoming.

David also received 2nd place at the New Mexico State Fair in September.
